Kiln Drying Process

Step 1 - Logs for your home are received at our mill by the truckloads.
Step 2 - Logs to manufacture your home and hundreds of others are carefully stacked within Old Timer's state-of-the-art kilns.
Step 3 - The kiln is loaded and ready to start. Your logs will remain in the kiln a minimum of 26 to 36 days or until a moisture content of 19% or less is reached.
Step 4 - Your logs are monitored throughout the drying process. Temperatures that rise to 180 degrees F help ensure the quality and integrity of each log.
Step 5 - The correct moisture content of your logs has been reached and they are ready to be sent to the milling process.
Step 6 - Per your plan specifications the logs are milled. We take great pride in manufacturing the best quality logs that we can for you.
